Folding Techniques

The 7-Fold / Triangle Fold

Start with your cup open. Flatten the cup between your fingers and thumb. Push one side of the rim down towards the inside of the cup. Fold one side over the other to make the tip as small as possible. This looks like a tulip bud and is the smallest end you can make with a cup fold.

Punch Down Fold

Start with your cup open. Flatten the cup between your fingers and thumb. Push one side of the rim down towards the inside of the cup. Pinch the sides of the rim together to ensure the cup does not open. Try to make the top as small as possible to make it easy to insert.

The U-Fold or C-Fold

Start with your cup open. Flatten the cup between your fingers and thumb. Fold in half (making a U/C/Heart shape). Pinch the sides of the rim together and hold firmly.

The No Fold Technique

Now this fold is not a fold at all but worth mentioning as we have found that a LOT of people use this technique when they can't get their cup to open!

Basically you DON'T fold your cup. You leave your cup fully open and insert gently. The displaced air helps keep the cup open and this technique can be super helpful if you are having NO luck getting your cup to open.
